We're open
We encourage our patients to attend the surgery for appointments, however, we appreciate this is not always possible. If you feel that you are unable to attend the surgery please telephone by 10:30am so that a doctor is alerted to your needs. In the time it takes to do one visit we can see four patients in surgery where there are better facilities, we therefore ask that you only request home visits when it’s absolutely necessary. All visits are triaged by a GP, the decision as to whether a home visit is warranted is down to the GP on call and based on clinical assessment. Please do not request a visit just because there are no appointments left at the surgery.
Who is eligible for home visits?
You should only request a GP home visit if you are housebound or you are too ill to attend the surgery. The GP will only visit you at home if they think that your medical condition requires this and will also decide how urgently a visit is needed. Please bare this in mind when requesting a GP home visit.
When will the doctor visit?
The GPs go out on their home visits between their morning and afternoon surgeries. We are unable to give exact timing of when the GP will visit and we cannot guarantee which GP it will be visiting you. If you believe your medical condition is an emergency, such as chest pain, severe difficulty in breathing or excessive bleeding / collapse please call 999.
